Ventura on Hols

El Restaurante Ventura will be on a deserved break from the 15th to the 21st of the month, meaning that they will be open again for business on that Saturday.

Delfin Do!

Delfin Books in Almuñécar will be holding their annual Christmas Evening on Friday 27th November from around 6pm.

De Tropen

Visiting the De Tropen showroom yesterday made me seriously wish I owned my own home here so I could decorate it with their furniture pieces. Their selection of indoor and outdoor furniture is absolutely beautiful and with a large collection to choose from.

Hubara Vets

I popped into to see Susi at her veterinary clinic in Salobreña, which is not far away from the Tourism Information Office. Susi Mesa, who is originally from Las Islas Canarias, met her husband, Javier when they were both studying to be veterinary surgeons in Córdoba. As he is from Salobreña, they decided to set up shop there.

Carrington Builds

Had a quick chat with Bob Coates from Carrington Builders and Decorators and asked if there was anything he wanted me to impart to our readers… and to be honest neither he nor I could think of much more to say about this brilliant team of highly skilled builders and decorators. Let’s face it, how can you improve on a formula and work ethic that has been good for over 30 years in the UK and six years here!

Los Laureles Festivities

Mark has kindly given me the menus for Christmas and New Year at the fabulous Los Laureles. So pin your reading ears back, take note, and book early or be disappointed:
Christmas 2009 Menu – €25

Indigo Interiors

Why should you pop into Indigo Interiors in La Herradura at the earliest opportunity? Simple, to pick up some Sandtex Masonary paint to give the outside of the old homestead a damned good seeing to!

Casa Técnica

The rather nice people at Casa Técnica in Salobreña have asked me to give a mention to their automatic pool covers. How could I refuse?
Not that interesting you may think, but if you do own a pool, this can be a very sound investment.

Falafel

This corner cafeteria, tucked away down a street opposite the Supersol supermarket, offers something very different; oriental pastries, cakes and sweetmeats.
