Policemen Arrested

Members of the Catalan regional police force, Los Mossos d’Esquadra, arrested five Guardia Civil policemen as part of a police crack down on a gang that specialised on highway robbery; i.e., robberies carried out on the nations motorways.

Suspicious Winnings

The Mayor of Manises, in the autonomous region of Valencia, who is already indicted in a corruption case, has now raised eyebrows by wining the Second Prize in the Christmas Lottery. Consequently, the judge in charge of the corruption case has demanded that he presents the winning ticket.

Three Streets in Lobres Tarmacked

Thanks to the efforts of the Salobreña Town Hall, three streets within the municipal annex of Lobres were included within a push by the Provincial Council to improve street surfacing. The result is that without having delve into the famished municipal coffers, Calle Poco Trigo, Calle Jazmín and Calle Juan Pablo II now sport a thick black carpet of new tarmac.

Palms Relocated

Locals in Almuñécar will have noticed that Town Hall workers from the garden and parks maintenance department have taken away a number of full-grown palm trees along Calle Pablo Iglesias. The reason for this is because they are literally destroying the pavement, thanks to their ever-increasing girth.
