The residents of Barrio de los Marinos, supported by the ubiquitous PSOE, are urging the Town Hall to carry out some urgently needed work on public spaces within the barrio (neighbourhood). They’re also asking for a greater police presence.

Tragic Car Accident

We start the section with a tragic incident that occurred at the beginning of the month, so it is very likely that you already know all about it. On the 5th of September an Englishman died in a car accident at the western end of the village, near the Nuevo Camping.

Tartana Expresses Thanks

The folks at Hotel and Restaurant La Tartana would like everyone to know that the property is scheduled to change hands in early November. The bar and restaurant will be running with Barry at the helm through to the end of October, with the 29th scheduled to be the final evening of service.

Cerro Gordo Road Problems

The access road between the N-340, Cerro Gordo entrance and Peña Parda is causing unrest again, as it is potholed to hell. Consequently and naturally, La Asociación de Vecinos Las Palomas-Cerro Gordo is not happy.

Road Improvements, N-340

Work on the roadside of the N-340 on either side of the Punta de la Mona tunnel is continuing. Drainage is being improved by turning the earth culverts into a concrete ones.
