The Servicio Marítimo Provincial (Guardia Civil) recovered a floating body beneath the cliffs next to Calahonda around midday last Friday.

The body was spotted a little before 12.20h, which was the time that the 112 received a call to say that there appeared to be a body floating in the sea at the foot of the cliff.
The emergency call centre activated the Guardia Civil’s Servicio Marítimo who sent out one of their launches to investigate whether it was a body or not and if so, to recover it from the sea and take it to Motril Port and from there to the Instituto de Medicina Legal in Granada.
An autopsy will take place to establish the cause and approximate time of death and if possible, for the forensic department to establish the victim’s idendity.
