You might have heard of the La Herradura resident, Lilian Urquieta, who has a shop on C. Príncipe in the village and whose mother runs the gardening centre next to the main road.

Well, lilian has international fame in the designer world and she was chosen by Amazon to form part of its The Handmade Tour in 2020;  there were only five other business chosen in the whole of Spain.

Her latest client is none other than Princess Naomi d’Orleans who has purchased two of Lilian’s tiaras for the bautism ceremony of her daughter, Élisabeth Victoire, which will take place in Saint Nicholas Cathedral, officiated by the Archbishop of Monaco. Present at the ceremony will be reigning monarch of Monaco, Prince Albert the II.

And it’s not the first time that the Princess hsa used Lilian’s original-design products, either, because the Princess wanted something for the wedding of the grandson of Napoleon, as well as for a wedding here in Spain, too.

So, who is Princess Naomi d’Orleans? She was born Naomi-Valeska Kern of German origin and worked as a model and was a Monegasque shooting champion,  as well. She married Charles Philippe Marie Louis d’Orléans in 2023. His mother and father are Béatrice Pasquier de Franclieu and Prince Michel d’Orléan.

It was his second marriage as his first took place in 2008 to Diana Álvares Pereira de Melo, 11th Duchess of Cadaval and later they were divorced, but both being Catholics and representing a Catholic royal house, there is some controversy over the legitimacy of the divorce.

Princess Naomi also came from a previous marriage with the well known German fashion designer, Otto Kern. She became a widow following his death in Monaco.
