Over a score of volunteers of various age groups, bent their backs picking up litter on one of Almuñecar’s beaches.

The Town Council provided the material, such as gloves and bags, and Buceo Almuñécar organised it, who said that they intend to organise more clean-ups on other beaches in the future.
The clean-up was along Playa San Cristóbal, and removed over 200 kilos of rubbish, including tyres, discarded plastic items & packaging, as well as cigarette butts. Diver volunteers also located small, sunken boats for future removal.
The Councilor for Parks and Gardens, Carlos Ferrón, explained that, “It has been an intense but also very rewarding morning. The great thing is seeing people of different ages lending a hand and caring about keeping our beaches clean.”
