The Axarquía village of Arenas has a bullfighting show planned for their fiestas, complete with dwarf bullfighters… then somebody complained.

The Franz Weber Foundation (FFW) filed complaints with the Ombudsman and the Junta de Andalucía demanding the suspension of the said comic-bullfighting show, planned for the 10th of this month as part of the Arenas Feria de La Mula.
National legislation from 2023 and a Royal Decree from February 2026 prohibit shows that subject people with disabilities to public mockery or denigration, explicitly forbidding authorities from authorising them.
The organising company, África Taurina, and the performers defend their right to work, citing a 2025 court ruling in their favour, though that ruling occurred before the stricter 2026 legal reforms took effect.
The Arenas Town Council states the show currently has all required regional permits, and the event remains on the schedule while authorities review whether it violates state laws.
Editorial comment: Are the performers complaining? No, Does the FFW put them out of a job and deny them an income? Yes. Thanks guys! Just another entity wanting to be offended for somebody else, instead of minding their own business. Besides, how long before circus clowns are banned because it is demeaning for people with large feet and red noses?
