Almuñécar is holding its Barrio de San Miguel fiestas very soon; from the 25th to the 29th of this month, as San Miguel falls on the 29th.
The fiestas, which are organised by the Asociación de Vecinos del Barrio de San Miguel, together with the Town Hall, are designed to be a family-friendly event and for all ages.
The Fiesta programme is as follows:
Friday the 25th, at 13:00h: The inauguration and opening of the food/drink stalls (barras), and a performance by the Charanga Los Barrileros brass band. In the afternoon, there will be a futsal tournament, which is a fast-paced, 5-a-side, indoor form of football officially recognized by FIFA, at the San Miguel Sports Centre at 16:00h, followed by bingo at 17:00h. Children can enjoy the musical show Las Guerreras del K-Pop at 19:00h, while a Zumba session with Evi will take place at 20:00h. The night will continue with the election of the 2026 children’s Miss and Mister at 21:00h, followed by a tribute to María Jiménez and Miguel Poveda.
Saturday the 26: Activities will begin at 12:00h with the opening of the stalls and entertainment by the Charanga Los Barrileros. Visitors can also check out the Arte-Sur Almuñécar painting exhibition on the Explanada de San Miguel. At 16:00h there will be entertainment & games for children, followed by bingo half an hour later. The afternoon will continue at 19:00h with Zumba with Paquillo, and the night will be headlined by the Orquesta A Compás starting at 21:30h, before making way for a party with DJ Charly Ro starting at midnight.
Sunday the 27th: the stalls will reopen at 12:00h, followed by a foam party at 12:30h. The schedule continues at 16:00h with the group Callejón Flamenco and another bingo session at 18:00h. At night, Raúl El Balilla will perform at 21:00h, and the party will be hosted by DJ Marcos Cortés starting at 23:00h.
Monday the 28t at 10:00h:, the traditional breakfast for the students of San Miguel School will take place.
Tuesday the 29th:, the mass in honour of San Miguel Arcángel will be celebrated at 18:00h, and the traditional procession of Saint Michael the Archangel through the barrio’s streets will begin at 20:00h. Following the procession, the festivities will conclude with a fireworks display.
