Dead Baby & 28 Dogs

This Wednesday officers from the National Police stopped a couple at the train station in the city of Valencia and arrested them after confirming that a warrant had been issued for their arrest. 

The suspects were Jesús A. R., 35, and Cristina S. C., 29. The Mossos (Catalan police) are inspecting the home where a baby is allegedly buried, in Santa Bárbara (Tarragona) which was the reason for their arrest. No body has not yet been found.

The the Mossos d’Esquadra search for the body has been ongoing since the previous Friday but no body has not yet been found.

So, what is this all about. On the said Friday the grandfather had gone to the police to report a disturbing phone call from his daughter-in-law concerning their baby; their baby, Nizan had died and they had buried him in a carboard box on the property.

The arrested couple also have five other children, two of whom are under the guardianship of the Generalitat Valenciana (regional government).

Once the police arrived at the address given by the grandfather, the found 28 dogs in a state of abandonment and poor health. All around were food scraps, excrement, and filth. There were even the bodies of several dogs. The dogs were taken in by the Engrescats de Amposta animal shelter. However, there was no sign of the alleged baby’s body.

The couple remain in custody but have made no statement so time is running out for the investigation because without a body, the couple will be charged for neglect of care for their children (given the state of their home
