Say Cheese!

It’s enough to make you proud! one the most active speed traps in Spain is within our dear Andalucía, because it is amongst the top five in the country!

You can find it... or it can find you, at kilometre point 968 on the A-7 within the province of Málaga, according to the European motoring association, Automovilistas Europeos Asociados (AEA).

This overworked blighter issued 45,050 fines last year, which is equivalent to 123 fines a day, bless its cotton socks! When you think that the average fine is for 100 euros (exceeding the speed limit by 30 kph) then you are looking at a tidy 4.5 million euros during 2025 that the DGT tucked away.

Anyway, as pointed out that the one in Málaga is amongst the top five, which is a list headed by Valencia, where the meanest on in the country squats at kilometre point 326 on the A-7 because it raked in 90,766 speeding fines in 2025, which works out at 248 fines a day
