Granada will offer new flights this autumn starting on October the 27th when the first Wizz Air flight will depart, connecting Granada with London-Luton direct.
Then on November the 3rd, the Granada-Porto (Portugal) route will launch. The London route returns after a 2-year absence, while the Portugal route is a brand-new option.
Both routes are backed through the Provincial Council’s co-marketing system, which finances destination advertising with these airlines while requiring a specific number of flights from Federico García Lorca (Granada) Airport.
If the Paris route, which iscurrently operated by Vueling becomes a fixed offer, then that only leaves Rome to complete major European connections, as Granada already links to Nantes and Amsterdam.
The Provincial Council will explore the German market for possible European destinations – Poland had been considered but did not materialises.
The new Porto flight will be operated by Volotea on Tuesdays and Fridays. On Tuesdays, it departs Granada at 13.30h, and returns on Fridays at 14:40h. Round-trip tickets start at 106 euros, with prices varying and becoming slightly more expensive in December, as the Christmas hols approach.
On Tuesdays, the plane departs Porto for Granada at 10:30h, and on Saturdays, it flies from Granada to Porto at 16:50h. Currently, flights are scheduled until January the 5th, ranging from 31 euros to 226 euros for certain routes during the December bank holiday weekend.
Between 2026 and the summer of 2027, the airline expects to offer more than 22,000 seats, boosting connectivity between Andalusia and northern Portugal.
With the addition of Porto, Volotea will operate four routes from Granada. The airline currently connects with Asturias and Santander for national flights, and with Nantes in France on the international side.
