Pay Back Attack?

Officers from the Local Police arrested a 37-year-old as the suspected aggressor, accused of attempted murder. Although he initially downplayed what happened and denied using the homemade weapon.

“I only gave him a couple of taps on the head, ” he said. However, he later admitted to the police that he had acted out of “revenge,” because the victim and four other people had beaten him so badly that he was left in a coma for three months.

The attempted murder took place around midnight last Tuesday near the Plaza Mayor shopping center in Xàtiva. A call to the 112 emergency line alerted authorities to a bleeding man who had been beaten.

Local Police officers rushed to the scene and found the man with face all over his face and injuries to his head and forearms. An ambulance too him to hospital.

Thanks to information gathered by the police, they discovered that the attack had taken place in a nearby shack, where witnesses had seen him emerge staggering due to the severity of his injuries. Officers found a large pool of blood and a wooden stick over a metre long, tipped with spikes; the suspected weapon used by the attacker.

After identifying suspect behind of the attack, Officers arresedt him. The man resisted arrest and had to be restrained. He was even taken to a centro de salud, where he was given a sedative and referred to Hospital Lluís Alcanyís due to his highly agitated state.
