The Asociations Day event was inaugurated on Saturday by the Mayor, Juan José Ruiz Joya, and the Councilor for Social Services & Equality, María del Carmen Reinoso Herrero.

In fact there were quite a few Councillors there, Including Councilor for Commerce, Lucía González, Councilor for the Environment, Carlos Ferrón, and Councilor Rafael Caballero who is also the Chairman of the Mancomunidad.

Of course, there weren’t just stands representing associations such as the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) or the Spanish Red Cross (Cruz Roja), but also ones representing national clubs, as well as around 20 workshops, live music and displays up on the large stage.

There was also a bouncy council for kids and a giant paella put on by the Church to fund their charity, Cáritas. The AECC also provided buñuelos to raise funds to help provide help and advice for those suffering from cancer and their families.
