Pill Popping Priest?

A 52-year-old priest from a parish in this province was intercepted in Madrid carrying Viagra and poppers, a chemical substance inhaled for sexual purposes whose commercialisation is prohibited.

So much for celibacy…

Anyway, the priest, who is under investigation, was caught by the Madrid Municipal Police on Sunday 24th whilst while travelling through the city centre, accompanied by a 25-year-old man of Peruvian origin.

The officers noticed a driver behaving suspiciously and pulled him over. Asked whether they had any narcotic substances on them or in the vehicle, they replied that they didn’t, but the officers decided to inspect the interior of the car, anyway, and lo! Praise be to the Lord; they found blisters packs of sildenafil and several bottles of poppers.

Now, sildenafil is the active ingredient in Viagra, which requires a medical prescription, as apart from brightening the lives of forgotten wives in the bedroom, it is prescribed for erectile dysfunction in adult men

As for poppers, they are inhaled to increase sexual potency by acting as a vasodilator, and their sale is prohibited in Spain.

The priest stated before the officers that all these products belonged to him but could not justify their origin with a medical prescription, so they were confiscated… for later use in parties held in the police station… Just kidding!

The trouble is that this farther is not the first one in the province of Cuenca to be caught being naughty, as in April 2024 a 33-year-old priest stood accused of two crimes of sexual abuse against a 13-year-old boy and girl, and one of sexual cyberbullying against a 15-year-old minor.

This priest was sentenced to four years in prison but avoided entering jail in exchange for completing a training course in sexual education and performing community service. He was also sentenced to stay at least 200 metres away from the 13-year-old minors for ten years, and for three years in the case of the minor victim of sexual cyberbullying.

Furthermore, he was banned from working with minors for 19 years and was placed on probation for a period of 13 years.
