Almuñécar Town Hall gave notice to the closure today of Calle Guadix, starting first thing in the morning.

This is because work on the planned footbridge over Río Seco, which runs parallel with the said street, will commence.

Where the point of work will be carried out, access will be restricted intermittently .

The Town hall asks pedestrians and drivers to cooperate or they will be shot… ok just severely rebuked… or simply frowned upon in an exasperated manner. Let’s leave it at that.

Editorial comment: the fabled footbridge over the river, Ladies and Gentlemen, means that you will soon be able to cross the river and get lost in the vega. The wonderful news is that this is happening at the same time as the paseo closure leading to the Peñon del Santo due to roadworks. Good luck finding your way around town!
