Guardajamas Forest Track

If you have ever taken the track that leads from upper Lentegí all the way up to the Cabra road past the abandoned gasolinera, you will know what this article is about.

Lentegí Town Hall has paved a considerable stretch of this track, as it give access to the hamlet of Guardajamas, as well as giving alternative access to the A-4050, more commonly known as the Carretera de la Cabra.

This has been funded by the Provincial Council, providing a budget of 54,564 euros for one area and another 28,748 euros for a section that was in a bad shape owing to the abundant rainfall during he winter and early spring. Between them, the two sections cover about 10 kilometres of track either with tarmac or concrete.

Editorial comment: excursionists would probably prefer it as it was, except for the badly damaged sections, because of its out-in-the-wilds feel but progress is progress, even when it’s not.
