Angler Falls Down Cliff,

A Guardia Civil rescue helicopter lifted an angler off the rocks yesterday morning after he had suffered a fall.

This occurred within the municipality of Gualchos-Castell de Ferro around 08.30h and involved a 55-year-old man who was stuck on a rock at the base of a cliff near Playa de La Rijana.

He had injured himself in the fall, which is why he was stuck there, so the Guardia Civil’s mountain-rescue service, GREIM, fired up the egg beater (helicopter) and got him out, thanks to the pilot expertly being able to steady the aircraft on one runner on top of the rock.

He was flown up to the top of the cliff and thrown off it again… Just kidding, he was flown to the Hospital Universitario Clínico San Cecilio in the city of Granada.
