There was another road accident but this time on the A-7 and on the Nerja side of the provincial border.

The incident took place on Saturday the 11th around 01.30h and resulted in a road death, after a lorry collided with a car stopped on the hard shoulder of the autovía, near kilometre point 934 on the Málaga-bound lanes.

The caller who reported the accident to the emergency coordination centre, 112 said that the driver was trapped in the wreckage of his car and requested urgent medical assistance.

The Nerja Fire Department, the Guardia Civil and an ambulance, as well as road-maintenance personnel rapidly arrived.

Unfortunately, nothing could be done for the driver. Fire personnel used cutting equipment to retrieve the body from the wreckage.
