Castle Gets Lighting Face-Lift

If you have walked along the Camino Gambullón in the evening, you will have seen that they have put in street lighting and illumination on the rockface beneath the castle.

The Town Hall maintenance workers set about replacing old lights with new, energy-efficient ones to achieve savings of more than 88%, or the previous, electricy consumption.

As said at the beginning, the work included lighting up the castle by replacing all floodlights with LED fixtures, both inside and out.

This means that the castle will be well lit for anybody passing along the N-340, giving it that iconic glow, so to speak.

According to Mayo Javier Ortega, the entire lighting system had suffered from various defects, such as defective cables and numerous burnt-out bulbs, since the last time the lighting arrangement was put in place in 2011
