Taxi Fares Unchanged

The regional government has confirmed that taxi fares for travel between various municipalities in Andalucía will remain unchanged.

The initial start-fare for intercity taxi journeys stays at 3.66 euros, effectively freezing prices for public transport between the region’s towns.

Unlike urban services, which are regulated by local town councils, intercity taxi rates fall under the jurisdiction of the Junta de Andalucia.

The government clarified that this initial flag-drop fee applies only to services where the distance between the origin and destination is less than twelve kilometres. This specification defines the scope of the starting rate for short-distance inter-town trips.

According to the resolution published in the Official Andalusian Gazette (BOJA), the price per kilometre or fraction thereof is set at 0.71 euros, with a minimum fare of 3.83 euros. The cost for an hour of waiting time is fixed at 17.57 euros.

These detailed rates apply from Monday to Friday (work days) between 06:00h and 22:00h. Prices increase for services provided at night, on weekends, or during holidays.

Consequently, on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and weekdays from 22:00h to 06:00h, the price per kilometre rises to 0.82 euros. During these nightime hours, the minimum fare is 4.51 euros, the hourly waiting rate reaches 20.71 euros, and a fee of 5.18 euros is established for every 15-minute fraction of waiting time.

The regulations specify that the fare chart must be displayed in a visible location inside the vehicle. These rates went into effect on Friday the 13th of last month.
