The A-44 autoviía, will fully reopen today following the completion of pillar work on the Embale de Rules bridge.
Actually, northbound lanes over the bridge were reopened yesterday and the southbound are reopened today, hence the “fully reopen” in the paragraph above.

Prior to the bridge being reopened, on Monday, they carried out load-stress testing by parking several articulated lorries on the bridge, which must have been fun.
The bridge had remained closed since January the 13th after being briefly reopening over Christmas following the original, more extended, closure between Septembrer and November. So it is a relief that no further closures have been announced.
Work focused on reinforcing the structure, (adding a new pillar) and securing the ground, as well as studying the slope’s behaviour, and monitoring for any potential movement.
