A magnitude 4.3 earth tremor shook the province of Almería early yesterday morning, according to the Instituto Geográfico Nacional (IGN).
The epicentre was located under Tabernas (where the Western Town is) and occurred very close to the surface, which caused it to be felt more strongly across various points of the province.

The earth tremor, which reached a maximum intensity of IV-V, took place at 12:55h. It was felt throughout almost the entire province of Almería, as well as in several areas of neighbouring Granada, including Motril, and Jaén, and even as far as in the Region of Murcia.
The 112 emergency services reported receiving 11 calls following the tremors: eight in the province of Almería (one from Tabernas, one from Gádor, and six from the capital), two from the province of Granada (Guadix and Baza), and one from the city of Jaén.
There were no reports of injuries caused by this event.
In fact, there were a total of 16 after shocks felt during the morning, with intensities ranging between 1.5 and 1.9 on the Richter Scale.
