Excess Damp & Fungi

Following the Leonardo and Marta wet fronts, which left behind a significant amount of rainfall, we are now entering a damp period where fungi will take centre stage over the coming weeks.

We must be on our toes for any small spots or colour changes on both leaves and fruit. Should these appear, it is vital to act as quickly as possible by applying the appropriate fungicide for each specific type of fungus.

We will almost certainly face Botrytis, [Apple] Scab, Mildew, etc.

A rapid diagnosis is the most effective way to halt fungal spread; otherwise, fruit trees, vegetables, and flowers will suffer irreparable damage.

You can find help to tackle this at Abosol in Almuñécar, which offers a wide range of specialised products and expert advice, so pop in a see them. Eva speaks excellent English.
