Salobreña Storm Damage

Salobreña Town Hall has asked landowners and irrigation associations for reports on any and all damage caused by the storm that hit the coast on the 28th of last month.

According to the Councillor for Agriculture, Mariola Martínez, this is in response to a request from the Agricultural Department of the Junta de Andalucia, so that they can draw up a ‘picture’ of the damage caused across the province and use it to organise an aid package.

The Junta also wants a report on the state of rural lanes within the comarca (Costa Tropical).

Recent damage caused by wave action is apparent following these last few days of wind and rain, especially along the Salobreña seafront.

There is also a video circulating that shows a huge boulder that reportedly (according to the video author) came to rest right next to the entrance of the Chiringuito El Peñon. However, looking at Google Street view from 2012, it has always been there.
