A fallen, high-voltage, power line, yesterday, closed a section of the A-7 autovia, in both directions, where it passes through the municipality of Almuñécar.

Traffic had to be diverted along the N-340 before normal traffic flow could be restored at 15.00h

The fallen HT line was reported to the Emergency Coordination Centre at 04.15h, putting the incident near kilometre point 913, which is on the bridge over Valle Río Verde/Otívar road.

Fire personnel, who had been very busy in the early hours due to incidents related to the high winds all over the province, were dispatched to the scene.

The emergency centre also alerted the utility company, Endesa, the Guardia Civil, and the Road Maintenance service.

The DGT announced at 13:30h the complete closure of the road in both directions between kilometers 910 (Taramay/Almuñécar Junction) and 920 (La Herradura/Almuñécar Junction).
