Accident on Calle Cruces

There was a car accident in Motril on the 20th of last month on Calle Cruces when a driver ran into a parked car.

The driver was trapped inside her car by the force of the impact buckling the door. The emergency call centre, 112, received an alerted to the situation and despatched fire personnel from the Motril Fire Department, as well as officers from the Policía Local and an 061 ambulance.

Fire personnel freed her by cutting open the door and removing part of the seats and other interior parts that were making it difficult to get her out.

Once out of the wreck, she was attended to by the paramedics before being taken to Hospital Santa Ana where she was hospitalised and kept under observation.

At the time of writing, it is not known how she lost control of the vehicle and the incident is under investigation to see if other vehicles or pedestrians may have influenced the outcome.
