Estación Náutica Abandoned?

The opposition party, PSOE, in the Almuñécar Town Council complained that the Estación Náutica in La Herradura lies in a state of abandonment.

Several party councillors visited the installations and considered that the visible deterioration of the premises “collides with the triumphalist announcements and the propaganda issued by the PP governing party.”

The PSOE Spokesman for La Herradura, Álvaro López, said that they had seen first hand the “sad state that greets anybody who visits the Estación Náutica: installations that should be providing a quality service to the public, which are crumbling due to a lack of maintenance and the absence of serious management.”

He went on to say, “Whilst the governing party sells headlines, the Estación Náutica is falling apart,” adding, “there can be no excuses for keeping it closed, degrading equipment that should be the pride of the village and the sports & tourism motor for one of the most important diving destinations in Spain.”

He pointed out that his party had opposed the plan from turning these installation into a plot for dwellings, which was badly explained and justified. He therefore concluded that it is “important to assume the obligation to begin repairs and maintenance and to listen to the residence and businesses of the village.”
