A cyclist in his mid 50s died just after midday today whilst out cycling in Almuñécar after suffering a fall following a cardiac problem.
The incident took place on the N-340 just up from the top (western) access junction to the town, Between rRestaurante Mateano and Hotel California

The 57-year-old man, a British tourist with the initials N.T.T., had been staying at a hotel in Nerja and had been out cycling in a group when he suffered a heart issue.
The emergency coordintion service, 112, received a call around 12.35h to report a cyclist having suffered a fall on the La Herradura-bound lane.
The centre alerted the Guardia Civil (who used their portable defibrillator) and an A&E team from the Centro de Salud de Almuñécar, who kept up CPR for 30 minutes but to no avail.
