The Councillor in charge of Almuñécar's Department of Trade, Lucía González, together with the people from the new car-parking facilities under the Municipal Market, announced a cheap-parking deal.

Also present at the joint presentantion on the 31st of last month was the Chairwoman of the Asociación del Comercio Sexitano (ACOS), Remedios Rico.

The deal that all concerned had agreed upon is that drivers can park their cars there for up to twelve hours for only 99 cents; i.e., not even a euro. This offer is valid throughout the day or night and on any day of the week, including bank holidays.

Councillor Lucía González, thought that the idea would be very positive and would help shopping and leisure activities in local businesses in the centre of town.

The Area Manager of TELPARK, José María Fayos, said that the “product” was quite simple: you download an app on your mobile, sign up and select “Multi Pass” purchasing a pass for five, ten or twenty stays. Thus each time you use the car park, you will only get charged 0.99 euros.

It’s not clear whether the 99 cents is on top of this purchase that you have to make through the app, but if you pop round to the car park, the attendant will probably be able to explain it better.

What we do know is that the Multi Pass de TELPARK can be acquired between the 1st and 19th of November and will be valid for a year. Entering and leaving the installations does not require a ticket as it’s all done electronically, via numberplate recognition.
