Obelisk on the Move

Tomorrow won't be a good time to drive through the centre of Motril because they will be partially dismantling and moving the obelisk-like monument on Calle Cuevas.

For this reason there will be traffic disruptions between 15.00h and 21.00h on both Calle Cuevas and Calle López Rubio – the present location of the said monument is where these two streets form a junction.

The artist who designed the obelisk, Abelardo Espejo Tramblin, is far from happy that the Town Hall is moving it and made it official known to the Mayor, but it look like it will go ahead anyway, tomorrow.

The separate parts of the Obelisk will be taken along Calle Cuevas as far as the Plaza de Toros, which is on the Camino de las Ventillas, meaning that traffic along the Camino de las Ventillas will be affected, as well.
