Tarmacking work on Beach Road

Motril Town Council will begin tarmacking work along Camino del Pelaillo (the beach road between Playa de Poniente and Playa Granada) this coming Monday.

These roadworks will run until October the 31st and will affect the entire Camino del Pelaillo area and its surroundings, which will benefit, once it is completed, Barrio Santa Adela and the Playa de Poniente area.

This work will also include the parking areas, erecting road signs and repainting road-surface markings.

Mayor Luisa García Chamorro explained that the project (within which this tarmacking operation belongs) has a budget of 2.2m euros and is the first step in a major Comprehensive Asphalting Plan; the “most extensive in more than twenty years.”

In addition to the Camino del Pelaillo work, the project includes work on other main streets and lanes, such as Avenida Enrique Martín Cuevas, Camino de San Antonio, Calle Cruces, Calle Antonio Montero, Camino de las Cañas, Calle Rodríguez Acosta, Calle Nuestra Señora de la Cabeza, and Ronda del Mediodía.

The Town Council urges drivers and residents to exercise caution and cooperate whilst all this is going on and thanks them in advance for their understanding regarding any inconvenience that may occur during the roadworks.
