The Nerja Royal British Legion

As many of its members are aware, last Sunday 12th October, the Royal British Legion launched their Poppy season, with its annual, Poppy Walk.

This year the walk took on a new dimension; they started and finished at the Al Andulus Hotel, Maro. With 26 walkers, a kilted man and four dogs, setting out on two different routes.

Their resident ‘homemade-brownie maker,’ Tracy, came up with fudge and brownies for all the walkers to sustain their energy levels.

Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a delicious buffet along with Play Your Cards Right and Choose The Right Bottle! As always, with the mandatory raffle.

The Royal British Legion is pleased and amazed to announce that they raised (estimated but once all monies are in) an impressive figure of over 1,800 euros!

A massive thank you to all the walkers, from the Branch Chairman, Eddie, and the Committee. Once again the Nerja Branch has proved they are more than just a ‘lunch club.’
