Around 300 people gathered in La Herradura in a collective demonstration of solidarity over the situation in Palestine.

The demonstration was entitled, Marcha solidaria por Palestina and was convoked outside the village church of San José on Saturday.

Many of those present were foreign residents, as well as residents from over in Almuñécar. The total figure of 300 was the number calculated by the Guardia Civil.

The demonstration began at 20.30h outside the church and from there made its way to the Plaza de La Independencia and then along the Paseo Andrés Segovia up to the Mercado Municipal.

Along most of the route that the demonstration took, the participants walked in silence, although some songs were sung (See video link below, taken by Juan Manuel de Haro) as well as many participants shouting out in both English and Spanish, “Free Palestine!”

Many participants walked with lit candles whilst other bore placards, banners and Palestinian flags, with the demonstration concluding after about an hour, without any incidents reported.

God give me strength. More tree hugging leftists, who live under mushrooms and have far too much time on their hands. It could be argued that the Israelis are being a little heavy handed, but they do not have many options when they are dealing with these terrorists. The hostages have to be released, why are the protesters forgetting this is why this mess continues.

I didn’t know there was going to be a protest and if I had known I would have
been there. Is there a group you know of in La Herradura which I could join against the
    genocide in Gaza?
