Two, young Irish tourists were mugged during the early morning of last Friday in Nerja by a group of four individuals.
All four assailants are residents of Nerja and one of them was a minor.

The attack took place in the town centre as the two tourists were on their way back to their hotel. Apart from being outnumbered, they were also threatened with a knife. However they were punched in the face and other parts of the body. In fact, such was the violence that a wall was spattered with blood (See accompanying photo).
However, neither of the two tourists were in a state to be able to defend themselves as they were both drunk.
The attackers got away with cash and the victims’ mobile phones before running off. Residents on the street where the attack took place phoned the Guardia Civil and Policía Local
Both victims were taken to the Nerja Centro de Salud where their injuries were treated, which include fractured facial bones.
The Guardia Civil managed to identify the assailants, who have since been arrested.
