We have been seeing a lot of unusual visitors this year, such as whales, and now, for the first time that I can remember, a flamingo, which was seen strutting along Cotobro beach.
Somebody managed to capture its arrival on video around eleven Saturday morning. There weren’t that many people around, which is why it chose that beach, perhaps.

Those who were there stopped to watch this large, pink flamingo, which stayed on the beach just a few moments before flying off.
Of course, we live in a time of mobile phones with excellent cameras for taking photos or making videos, so its brief appearance was captured like a film star walking the red carpet and thanks to one witness we have this footage, which can you see on social media. Our image is just a frame from one of those uploaded videos.
This large aquatic bird is a regular visitor to the wetlands on South Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts, such as the Doñana National Reserve in the provinces of Huelva/Cádiz and Fuente de Piedra in Málaga, which are their main European breeding grounds.
