The emergency coordination centre, 112, received an alert on Tuesday night at 23.08h with the caller saying that they had found a body floating in an irrigation tank in Los Tablones area of Motril.

The call centre despatched an ambulance and the Motril fire service, together with the Policía Nacional and a la Policía Local.

The paramedics confirmed that the victim, a man, was dead. No other information on the victim was disclosed, other than the victim was a local.

The Policía Nacional are investigating the incident but the autopsy-report results are still pending.
