He knew he was in for it; he was sat drunk behind the wheel and was staring through his side window at an officer belonging to Íllora Policía Local, beckoning him to step out.

There were a couple of other minor points that he was concerned about, such has having no valid ITV or driving licence but he thought that speeding off would be a good idea… but ended up ramming the officers’ patrol car. It was just not going to be his lucky day.

Things started to go downhill in his life on Tuesday on a town-centre street when the officers saw the man staggering towards his car and getting in so one of the officers tapped on his window.

Seeing the officer peering in at him, telling him to get out, he decided to start the engine, throw it into reverse and escape. However, his escape was a question of metres because he backed right into the patrol car behind him with the other officer in it.

He was dragged out of the car and arrested. As for the patrol car, it had to be towed away to a car workshop to be repaired.
