A Suspicious Amount of Fuel

The Guardia Civil came across a parked van last weekend, loaded with 1,500 litres of gasoline near a beach in Los Yesos, which is a municipal dependency of Sorvilán.

The police are investigating whether this find is related to narco-launches, which need to be refuelled owing to the massive consumption of up to four, powerful, outboard motors.

It is not the first time that the Guardia Civil have come across these ‘refuellers’ along the costa tropical, where fast-moving RIBs off load drugs or illegal immigrants; sometimes both.

In fact, on at least one occasion, they came across an abandoned RIB (Zodiac) on a beach in this area .
