The body of a woman was found on Playa Velilla in Almuñécar during the early hours of yesterday.

According to the emergency coordination centre (112) they received news of the discovery at 02.12h. The caller said that there was a body floating in the surf, face down.

The centre sent the Guardia Civil, an ambulance and the Policía Local to the said beach. Sources at the Policía Local confirmed that the body was that of a woman whilst the Guardia Civil have not offered any more details on the victim.
