What do you do if you have lost all your points on your driving licence but have an opportunity to recover your licence by sitting a test? Drive to the test centre in your car is not the right answer.

However, one 25-year-old woman decided that it was a spiffing idea and got nabbed, bless her cotton socks.

The police had seen her pull up in her car and park outside the examination centre, so they waited patiently for her to finish her written exam and then tapped her on the shoulder and said, “A quick word…”

They clamped her car and arrested her, charged for driving without a valid licence after losing all her points on it and took her before a police court.
