A 5-year old child has been hospitalised after a quad accident in Maracena which was being driven by a 7-year old.

The vehicle had hit a wall  in the vega area behind the municipal cemetery last Saturday afternoon.

The emergency coordination centre (112) received a call 17.45h alerting to the accident on the Camino de las Tinajas and despatched the Policia Local, the Guardia Civil and an ambulance.

The condition of the 5-year old, who was on the back of the quad and received head injuries, is said to be serious but stable.

Apparently, the children belong to a family from outside the area who were out for the day.
