There was a meeting in the Almuñécar Town Hall of all the clubs and associations that intend to take part in the Encuentro de Asociaciones, which will take place on the 31st of May in the Majuelo Park.

At the meeting was the Councillor for Social Services, María del Carmen Reinoso, and Councillor for Citizen Participation, Marías del Carmen Martín Orce.

Councillor Reinoso said that these events were important not only so that different clubs and associations can come together, but also for the residents of the municipality to be aware of their existence and what they do and, perhaps, become members.

Councillor Orce explained that, “32 associations attended the meeting and expressed their willingness to participate, along with newcomers, El Teléfono de la Esperanza, la Asociación islámico-marroquí, la Asociación de Pescadores Costa Tropical and El Club de Lectura de La Herradura.”

At the meeting, the associations and clubs explained what they would need on the day so that the Town Council could make it available.

This will not be the last meeting before the big day, pointed out, the Councillors, as there is much to organise and problems to be ironed out so there are no hitches on the day of the event.
