Blue Zones Activated

Semana Santa, whether you welcome it or find it a pain in your sitting arrangement, is here, along with the activation of Blue Zones along Salobreña's Paseo Marítimo, etc.

The parking meters came into ‘action’ this morning and will be gobbling up your money until the Sunday the 20th, not only on the beachfront road, but also the ones next to it.

The Councillor responsibilbe for the Blue Zones, Antonio Rodríguez, explained that every weekend until the 15th of June, the parking machines will be operative, as well. After that they will be operative, every day, until the 15th of September.

The Blue Zone parking areas will require payment from 10.00h straight through to 21.00h at one centime a minute up to a maximum of five hours.

To feed the company that runs the Blue Zones, you can either use the parking meters or using the mobi-e-phone app, Parkinglibre. Although both words translate for ‘free, don’t confuse ‘libre with ‘gratis.’

But what if you are a resident in the areas where there are Blue Zones and want a bono (period pass)? Well, you can pop along to the Blue-Zone company office in the Municipal Market building, as they also run the underground car park there, and request one. You could also send them an email to info@iberpark.es or phone them on 623 471 158.
