Two Guardia Civil officers were injured after the vehicle that they were pursuing rammed their patrol car.

On Tuesday night, the police received a call out to an address in Mijas where a gender violence incident was reported to have taken place.

Several patrol cars were despatched to the address in Las Lagunas as reportedly firearms were involved.

The alleged culprit had attempted to flee the dwelling in a Volkswagen Golf. One of the patrol cars intercepted the Volkswagen and ordered the driver to stop, but instead he accelerated and rammed the patrol car.

As consequence of the head-on impact, the front of the patrol car was wrecked and the officers inside injured. However, the culprit’s car was also written off and the driver arrested.
