The Guardia Civil have carried out four arrests in Nerja as part of police operation, Koffer, targeting those behind bar and restaurant break-ins.
The police operation was launched at the end of December after the Guardia Civil in Nerja received several complaints concerning break-ins carried out against restaurants in that municipality.

The thieves’ modus operandi was to force the main entrance, causing extensive damage. Having gained entrance, they raided the cash tills and rapidly abandoned the premises in order to avoid being caught. The total for the cash taken in the four establishments was 2,350 euros
The police operation set about discovering the identity of the culprit or culprits and having done that, to bring them in for questioning.
Two of the four individuals had police records for similar acts and had been arrested during the previous year. The judge at the police court ordered that one of them be remanded in custody. The other three were released pending trail.
