The children's playpark in Tarmay within Parque El Pozuelo, was inaugurated after the installation of new apparatus, such as the skate-park area.
Also included within the park are pétanque courts, callisthenic-exercise area, a pump park (whatever that is) and an area with benches & tables where boardgames can be played.
The budget for this overhaul was just over half a million euros providing the Barrio de Taramay with a multi-purpose park, complete with paths through olive trees for a nice stroll, right next to the beach.
Mayor Ruiz Joya pointed out that the end result was the fruit of months of planning and the physical work of putting it all together.
He took the opportunity to announce that the park in the Barrio de El Moruno will soon be inaugurated too, thanks to an inversion of 110,000 euros.
Councillor Carlos Ferrón expressed his satisfaction for having come through with an electoral pledge, emphasising how the original olive trees were moved to be replanted and thus not lost.
