The lottery shop at the very top of Avenida de Andalucía in Almuñécar sold number 48020 of the Christmas Lottery (El Gordo) which was the 4th Prize worth 20,000 euros!

They sold eight decimos at the office which means that they are responsible for a total prize of 160,000 euros.

The lottery-office owner, María Teresa Gamarra, has sold quite a few winners over the years but it never fails to bring a lot of vicarious joy each time a winning decimo is sold over her counter.

In fact, María Teresa has sold winning tickets on three previous occasions: the first was in 2012, then again in 2018 and more recently in 2022.

However, her lottery office was not the only one that sold a winning lottery ticket in Almuñécar because the one in Velilla (Edifício Interyan) sold a decimo of 77768, which was another 4th prize worth 20,000 euros.
