Nerja Town hall has provided the Almijara Bowls Club with a new games area in the Urbanización Santo Tomás area of town.
The new location has six bowling strips, so fans of this sport should be happy once it is finished. Most members of the club are foreign residents of all nationalities, amongst them especially British residents.
The Councillor for Infrastructure, Alberto Tomé (PP) met with the Chairman of the club, David Trippas, the Chairman of the Asociación de Presidentes de Comunidades de Urbanizaciones Nerjeñas (APCUN), David Jiménez and its Vice Chairman Luis Jiménez to set out the terms of use and time scale for its completion, etc.
Chairman David Trippas thanked the Town Hall for its efforts in providing a plot of publicly owned land and the work involved in preparing it – the plot needed a good strimming, for example, otherwise it would have been Jungle Bowls. There is still work to be done on it so it has still not been inaugurated
The plot where the club used to meet and play will now be used for a real-estate project.
