The body of a man was found on a Nerja beach Tuesday night, according to the emergency coordination centre, 112.

It was just before 21.00h that they received a call from a person who had come across a body lying on Playa de Carabeillo near the bottom of the steps that lead down to the said beach.

An ambulance was despatched, together with the Guardia Civil, the Policía Local and Protección Civil de Nerja.

Police sources confirmed that the victim was dressed and appears to have drowned, whilst medical sources said that the victim appeared to be around 50 years of age.

At present, there is no further information on the man’s idendity or the circumstances of his death.
