Lifeguards belonging to the Cruz Roja in Salobreña carried out a rescue exercise on Playa de La Charca on Friday.
The object of the drill or exercise was to check the reaction time and to make sure that they have the necessary equipment and training to carry out their task in a real-life situation.

Two lifeguards dove into the sea to rescue a person who was playing the role of somebody in difficulty and at risk from drowning, whilst a Red-Cross jet-ski with two lifeguards onboard sped to the scene, too.
On the beach lifeguards were practicing CPR on the supposed victim and within a short time the ambulance had arrived.
All went well.
